AutoConverse Agent is easy to install with most clients choosing Google Tag Manager. Install the launcher in five steps.
The Agent installs as a single Custom HTML tag in your existing Google Tag Manager container. If you need a custom install instead, email [email protected].
Inside GTM, create a new tag called AutoConverseAgentTag.
Choose Tag Type: Custom HTML and paste the following code into the HTML box.
<script>
(function() {
var s = document.getElementById('autoconverse-agent');
if (!s) {
s = document.createElement('script');
s.id = 'autoconverse-agent';
s.src = 'https://app.agent.autoconverse.ai/dist/js/launcher.min.js';
s.async = true;
s.addEventListener('load', function() {
AgentLauncher.init();
});
document.body.appendChild(s);
} else if (window.AgentLauncher) {
// Script already loaded, just re-init for new route
AgentLauncher.init();
}
})();
</script>launcher.min.js). It is not a Google Analytics / GA4 measurement script and does not include a Measurement ID.Add a trigger of type Page view - DOM Ready. Inside the trigger config you should see the text: “This trigger fires on: All DOM Ready Events”. Create this trigger and give it a name if you don’t already have one.
Select the trigger on the tag, then Save the tag.
Publish your container.
AutoConverse does not add its own Google Analytics tag to your page. The GTM snippet above loads the launcher only; the launcher then reports activity into the analytics you already have.
If Enable Google analytics is turned on for your site in the AutoConverse CMS, the launcher emits a custom event into your page’s existing dataLayer (GTM) or gtag. Events are named autoconverse_*, so your own analytics setup can pick them up.
To forward those events to GA4 from your GTM container, follow GA4 events.
In GTM, on the list of tags page, check the box next to AutoConverseAgentTag and select Pause.
Publish your container.
